It's been a bit of a whirlwind year for Lauren Kate. This year saw the release of Rapture, the last book in the Fallen series bringing to an end one of the most popular YA series in the last few years. I absolutely loved the story of Luce, Daniel and Cam! If you haven't read it yet, trust me, you're missing out on something extra special! She's also waiting for the patter of tiny feet with her first child being expected some time over the winter and we at Midnight Reads want to send our love and congratulations at such an exciting time! With so much going on we were over the moon when Lauren said she would still love to take part in our Winter Warmers Event! This year Lauren chose Between You & Me by Marisa Calin. Here's a brief synopsis of her favourite début novel for 2012:
Phyre knows there is something life-changing about her new

I really loved Marisa Calin's debut novel, Between You and Me. Between You and Me is a rare surprising love
story starring characters so open they are impossible not to relate to. Marisa
Calin's writing enchanted and impressed me. When I finished reading I was left
with that gaping-hole feeling that only another incredible book can fill. I
hope she writes another one soon!
